How round robin works
In a round robin every team plays every other team once, and the standings decide the winner. It is the fairest format, since nobody goes out on one bad game, and the most games: 8 teams play 28 games, 12 teams play 66.
The schedules here use the circle method. Seed 1 stays fixed, the other teams rotate one place each round, and each round pairs the teams opposite each other. With an odd number of teams, an empty "bye" position makes the count even, so one team rests each round and every team rests exactly once.
A round robin of n teams needs n − 1 rounds (n with an odd number). With one court or field per game in a round, every round takes one time slot.

Questions
How many games are in a round robin?
Teams times teams minus one, divided by two. Every team plays every other team exactly once.
What happens with an odd number of teams?
One team sits out each round with a bye. The schedule rotates so every team has exactly one bye.
How are ties broken?
In the app, a win earns 3 points and a draw 1. Teams level on points are separated by score difference, then points scored, then original seed.
Can I run a double round robin?
Play the schedule twice, swapping which team is listed first in the second half. The app schedules a single round robin, so create a second tournament for the return games.
