Soccer award ideas

Each award has a line for the certificate. “Use this award” puts it in the maker, where you can keep the line or rewrite it.

• Golden Boot

For the team’s top goal scorer.

On the certificate: “for scoring the most goals this season”

• Golden Glove

For the goalkeeper, or the player who spent the most time in goal and kept the most clean sheets.

On the certificate: “for the best goalkeeping this season”

• Playmaker Award

For the player who set up the most goals.

On the certificate: “for the most assists and the smartest passes”

• Brick Wall Award

For the best defender: the player attackers could not get past.

On the certificate: “for rock-solid defending all season”

• Engine Award

For the player with the most energy, usually a midfielder who runs from one box to the other all game.

On the certificate: “for running the whole field, the whole game”

• Fancy Feet Award

For the best dribbler: the player who beats defenders one on one.

On the certificate: “for the best dribbling and footwork on the team”

• Captain’s Award

For the captain, or the player who led the team without the armband.

On the certificate: “for leading the team on and off the field”

• Clean Sheet Award

For the defenders and goalkeeper together, for the games the team did not concede.

On the certificate: “for keeping the other team off the scoreboard”

Awards that suit every sport, from Most Valuable Player to Perfect Attendance, are in the maker’s list too; see the award ideas for any sport.

Giving out soccer awards

Youth soccer rosters are often 10 to 18 players, depending on whether the team plays 7v7, 9v9 or 11v11. Goalkeepers and defenders rarely score, so give them awards of their own (Golden Glove, Brick Wall, Clean Sheet) rather than measuring everyone by goals.

The Clean Sheet Award can go to the whole back line: list each defender and the goalkeeper with , Clean Sheet Award after the name and each gets a certificate.
