Softball award ideas

Each award has a line for the certificate. “Use this award” puts it in the maker, where you can keep the line or rewrite it.

Ace of the Circle
For the best pitcher. In softball the pitcher works from the circle, so this is the pitching award.
On the certificate: “for the best pitching this season”
Slugger Award
For the best power hitter: most extra-base hits or home runs.
On the certificate: “for the biggest bat in the lineup”
Slap Hitter Award
For the slapper who bats from the left side and uses speed to get on base.
On the certificate: “for the best slap hitting on the team”
Best Glove Award
For the most reliable fielder: the fewest errors and the best catches.
On the certificate: “for the best fielding this season”
Small Ball Award
For the best bunter: sacrifices, squeezes and bunt singles.
On the certificate: “for the bunts that moved runners over”
Rally Starter Award
For the player with the best on-base percentage, usually a leadoff hitter.
On the certificate: “for getting on base and starting rallies”
Speedster Award
For the fastest runner on the bases.
On the certificate: “for the most stolen bases this season”
Dugout Spirit Award
For the player who led the cheers, in the game or not.
On the certificate: “for leading every dugout cheer”

Awards that suit every sport, from Most Valuable Player to Perfect Attendance, are in the maker’s list too; see the award ideas for any sport.

Giving out softball awards

Softball has awards baseball does not need: Ace of the Circle for the pitcher, and the Slap Hitter Award for slappers who bat from the left side and use their speed to get on base. The Small Ball Award is for the bunts and sacrifices that rarely make the highlights.

Softball rosters are often 11 to 15 players. Add the awards for any sport, such as Most Improved and Sportsmanship, so every player gets a certificate.

Certificates for other sports

Running a softball tournament? Make the bracket first: single elimination, double elimination or round robin. When the final result is in, the winner screen links to the certificate maker with the champion’s name filled in.

Questions

What awards can you give in softball?

The softball awards on this page: Ace of the Circle, Slugger Award, Slap Hitter Award, Best Glove Award, Small Ball Award, Rally Starter Award, Speedster Award and Dugout Spirit Award. Add the awards that suit any sport, such as Most Valuable Player, Most Improved Player, Sportsmanship Award and Coach’s Award, so every player gets one.

How do I give each softball player a different award?

In the names box, put the award after the name, separated by a comma: “Jordan Lee, Ace of the Circle”. Each line becomes its own certificate, with that award and its line under the name. Download PDF puts every certificate in one file.

Can I print softball certificates in our team colours?

Yes. Pick the team colour, and the border, the softball emblem, the award title and the ribbon change to it. With a very pale colour the text stays dark so it is still readable.
